MUGEN

A Japanese Term, meaning “To Be Without Limit”

What we teach is a set of limitlessly adaptable problem solving skills distilled from ancient and modern systems of combat

We will meet you wherever you are on your journey and we will elevate you

Ancient techniques and practices…

Modern systems and applications

Level One - Threat Recognition

The very first step in surviving a violent encounter is learning to spot a threat before it warrants a physical response and take steps to not to be there when it unfolds. Level one is about situational awareness, recognizing threats and safely navigating your environment with preventative measures.

Level Two - Threat Response

This course builds off of Level One and requires some degree of physical capability as it focuses on handling the most common forms of attack. Level two will teach students how to dampen the overwhelming force of the adrenal (fight or flight) response, appropriate and legal use of force, introduce the basics of striking for the purpose of escape and how to fall on the ground and recover without injury.

Warriors Path

There is no defined timeline in this program as it is designed to make someone combat effective by rewiring their reflexes. Similar to boxing, there is no ranking structure such as belts in this framework, as our focus is on skill building not belt chasing. Here, we are not training to survive a threat from a random attacker on the street, we are assuming the threat is well trained, capable and fierce in their commitment to cause you harm. It encompasses mobility and proprioceptive training, armed and unarmed combat techniques, treatment of traumatic injury and combat psychology to temper the mind and soul. In short, we will turn you into something that would make John Wick look like Curious George.

This program can be done both in classes with other students or in a private one on one setting with one of our instructors

Christopher Clark

Co-founder and

Instructor

“Progress not perfection. The more you sweat in training the less you bleed on the battlefield”

Christopher Clark has been dedicated to studying the martial arts for over thirty years and has maintained close attention to efficacy in his practice.  Wherever his life took him, one thing remained constant; his commitment to honing his skills in the martial arts.  Christopher was trained by sheriffs and military police in CQC (Close Quarter Combat), gleaning proficiency in pistol, shotgun and AR-15 carbine weapon systems.  Proficient in firearm handling from an early age, Christopher was hunting by himself in the Canadian wilderness by the age of thirteen.  He began learning Shotokan Karate as a child and became what many could rightly call obsessed with the martial arts, as he would go on to study and practice: Judo, Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Jujutsu, Boxing, Thai boxing, MMA, Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu (japanese swordsmanship).
